I am Coty Jones, a photographer based in Hoopers Island, Maryland. The lady with the mermaid hair behind the camera outside somewhere … most likely overboard.
After graduating high school I left the tall grass to take off for Washington D.C. in a little red car. I pursued my love for art and photography in a place that I knew nothing about. Four years later and a B.F.A in Fine Art Photography from the Corcoran College of Art + Design, I returned back to my tall grass.
Inspiration comes from my passion for the outdoors and the feeling I get when I step outside with bare feet in the grass. I love the smell of fresh cut grass and a wood stove. Baking and cooking for others makes me happy. I make a mean fresh salsa and crab salad. I have a mild addiction to vacuuming. My sessions typically end with me wet, covered in mud, sand or any other outdoor debris – but, that’s the way I love it to be! I love Yankee Candles and the best scent hands down is Farmers Market.
